When Donna Cool and Judy Wallace met for the first time in 32 years, the sisters looked into each others eyes and felt the pain of missed childhood experiences. They never enjoyed a slumber party together, borrowed each other's clothes or fogot sisterly advice about putting on makeup or fixing their hair. But when they fell into each other's arms on that chilly day last October, "it didn't seem like we'd ever been apart." Cool said.
In 1965 Cool, Wallace another sister and two brothers were young children when they were taken from their Akron home and put up for adoption by Summit County Children Services. Four of them have since reunited. Now, the only one still missing is their 33 year old brother, William. Cool, who still lives in Akron, was 2 years old when she and her siblings were separated.
For most of her adult life, the 34 year old office manager has been searching for her siblings. "We're blood relatives and it only seems natural that we should all be together again," she said. "We've got this connection that you just can't get away from."
By using the phone book, birth records, and leads from family members, several years ago, Cool found Ray, a 39 year old construction worker who lived just a few miles away from her in Akron. Next, she tracked down Terry, a 38 year old factory worker who also lives in Akron. All three siblings had kids of their own and through the years their families got to know each other. But they longed to know what happened to Judy and William. "It was like this void that no one could fill," Cool said. That all changed last year when Cool used an internet search service called Peoplefindernow.com to locate anyone in the United States with Judy's first name and birth date.
